On June 13th, Jae Cheon Lee, a non-permanent advisor of DGIST, a professional expert of Solge Co., a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Auburn University and an honorary professor of Kyungmyung University, and Professor Li Baoren from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, the deputy director of the Fluid Power Transmission and Control Branch of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, visited our college for academic discussion and exchange. Yan Fuwu, the dean of the School of Automotive Engineering, Yin Zhishuai, the vice dean, and Wang Yanbing, the director of the Foreign Exchange Section of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, attended the symposium. The meeting was presided over by Vice Dean Yin Zhishuai.

President Yan Fuwu extended a warm welcome to the two professors and provided a detailed account of the development of our college in terms of discipline construction, talent cultivation and scientific research. President Yan stated that the School of Automotive Engineering has a long history of running schools and has made beneficial explorations in areas such as Party building and innovation and entrepreneurship, engineering education, and organized scientific research. He looks forward to further deepening international cooperation through this exchange and jointly promoting the cultivation of high-quality talents in the automotive field.

At the symposium, both sides conducted in-depth discussions on three key areas: First, promoting mutual visits and exchanges between teachers and students. It is planned to invite South Korean experts to participate in the short-term teaching research activities of our university's summer Excellence Academy and carry out joint guidance work for postgraduate training. Second, we will enhance cooperation on scientific research projects. We plan to jointly apply for bilateral research projects supported by the governments of China and South Korea, and form interdisciplinary research teams to focus on tackling cutting-edge technologies such as intelligent transportation and autonomous driving. Third, we will deepen the collaborative innovation among industry, academia and research institutions, plan to establish a China-South Korea automotive industry cooperation platform, and promote in-depth cooperation between universities and enterprises through holding industry-university-research forums and other forms.

This exchange activity has achieved remarkable results, laying a solid foundation for in-depth cooperation between the two sides in areas such as talent cultivation, scientific research innovation, and industrial cooperation in the future. It will also help our institute's international research and cooperation work reach a new level.
