The State Key Laboratory of Light Superalloys was established in 2024 with approval from the Ministry of Science and Technology of China. It is jointly operated by Henan University of Science and Technology (HENUST) and Wuhan University of Technology (WHUT), under the leadership of Academician Chen Guang, a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).
Research Focus & Strategic Goals
The laboratory is dedicated to advancing high-temperature light alloy materials (e.g., aluminum, magnesium, and titanium alloys) for critical applications in: Aerospace, Defense & Strategic Weapons and Transportation.
The lab aims to: establish a world-class R&D platform for high-temperature light alloys; achieve full domestic control over strategic materials; drive next-gen advancements in aerospace and defense technologies.
