The final of the second Wuhan University of Technology Postgraduate Future Aircraft Innovation Competition was successfully held

In response to the national strategy of building a strong space nation, to continuously stimulate the innovative enthusiasm of our university's postgraduate students in the aerospace field, enhance their scientific research and practical abilities, and discover high-quality and top-notch innovative talents, the final of the second Wuhan University of Technology Postgraduate Future Aircraft Innovation Competition was successfully held in the Baolong Technology Lecture Hall of the School of Automotive Engineering on the morning of July 2nd. This competition is hosted by the Graduate Affairs Department of the University Party Committee and organized by the School of Automotive Engineering. With the theme of "Exploring the Boundless Horizon, Igniting Youthful Dreams", it aims to encourage students to be courageous in breaking through and innovating, and promote the integrated development of cutting-edge technologies. After the preliminary review, a total of 8 teams from 4 colleges across the university were shortlisted for the final. CAI Chun, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Automotive Engineering, and Pan Peng, the postgraduate counselor, attended the final. Zhu Dahu and Wu Mengwu, teachers from the School of Automotive Engineering, Zhou Quan from the School of Automation, and Liu Bao from the School of Transportation and Logistics served as judges for the final. Representatives of postgraduate students from various colleges were present to observe and learn, and the academic atmosphere on the spot was very strong.

    First, Secretary CAI delivered the opening speech. He mentioned that scientific and technological innovation is the core driving force for a country's development, and young students are an important force promoting scientific and technological progress. He hopes that students will take this competition as an opportunity to constantly explore new concepts and technologies in aircraft design, showcase the style and responsibility of postgraduate students in the new era, and strive to grow into top-notch innovative talents with an international perspective, innovative ability and outstanding achievements.

During the competition, each participating team showcased the innovative achievements of their projects through the form of "simulation video + design presentation". Unmanned vessel and unmanned aerial vehicle collaborative water quality testing system, unmanned aerial vehicle launch and recovery system, airspace adaptive aircraft design, lightweight force-acoustic multi-functional structure design of aircraft, urban low-altitude inspection flight robot, complex component forming - heat treatment composite manufacturing technology, flying car emergency landing system design, etc. The review experts provided in-depth comments on the innovation, scientific nature, technical implementation difficulty and application prospects of the works, and engaged in exchanges and discussions with the contestants, putting forward revision suggestions and improvement directions.

This competition is not only a concentrated display of innovative achievements, but also an important platform for promoting academic exchanges and enhancing practical abilities. Students have received comprehensive training in teamwork, technical breakthroughs, and expression skills, and it has also laid a solid foundation for the school to participate in higher-level competitions in the future.
