The golden autumn set a vibrant backdrop for the arena, where athletes wrote chapters of triumph with their passion. From the afternoon of October 24 to October 26, the 21st Wuhan University of Technology Sports Meet, sponsored by BYD, was grandly held at the South Lake Campus Stadium. Faculty and students of the School of Automotive Engineering demonstrated unity, determination, and excellence across all events, achieving outstanding results: 3rd place in the Men’s Team Category; 6th place in the Women’s Team Category; "Outstanding Cheer Squad" Honor.
The games kicked off on the afternoon of the 24th with the Fun Sports Events, where lively and creative competitions drew a large number of participants. The School of Automotive Engineering dominated the leaderboard:1st place in the Team Synergy Challenge (同舟共济); 2nd place in Wheel Rolling (车轮滚滚); 3rd place in 12-Person Long Rope Jumping, Darts High Score, Hula Hoop Relay, and Frisbee Accuracy Toss.
From the 25th to the morning of the 26th, track and field events took center stage. Building on their early success, the automotive engineering students showcased tenacity and ambition, securing remarkable individual achievements: Men’s 800m: 4th place; Men’s Triple Jump: 4th place; Men’s 400m: 2nd place; Men’s Shot Put: 2nd place. The Men’s 4x400m Relay Team also claimed 2nd place through flawless teamwork. Each announcement over the loudspeaker and every ranking on the honor board fueled the students’ excitement, inspiring them to push their limits in every event.
Meanwhile, the cheer squad and volunteers played pivotal roles. Cheerleaders waved pom-poms and energized the crowd with their dynamic performances, while volunteers provided on-the-spot assistance to athletes and supported event logistics at the student union’s workstation. The guides ensured the smooth operation of the games, proving indispensable to the event’s success.
The School of Automotive Engineering’s stellar performance at the games highlighted its students’ vitality and relentless spirit. Moving forward, they will continue to embody the school’s motto — "Ambition, Integrity, Innovation" (励志、崇德、鼎新) — excelling both academically and in daily life.
